THE TAGLI Mentorship Award FAQs

Who is eligible to apply?

The award is open to artists based in the UK or EU. Any passport holder is welcome to apply, regardless of nationality; eligibility is based on where you are currently based, not your citizenship.

Do I need to hold a UK or EU passport?

No. You can hold a passport from any country; what matters is that you are currently based in the UK or the EU.

I already show my work with a gallery - can I still apply?

Yes, as long as you do not have full or partial gallery representation. Inclusion in group shows and works consigned to third parties are both fine.

I haven't graduated yet - can I apply?

Final-year students will be considered, though graduates are prioritised. Both BA and MA graduates are eligible to apply.

I am a self-taught artist - can I apply?

Thank you so much for your interest. Unfortunately, this award is not open to self-taught artists. We would, however, love for you to follow us on Instagram @thetagli, as we regularly share other open calls that do welcome self-taught practitioners.

Where and when will the exhibition take place?

The exhibition will launch during Frieze week in London 2026 at Rosewood London, Holborn, as part of The Living Gallery - Rosewood's ongoing programme of rotating exhibitions championing emerging artists across the hotel's historic spaces.

How long will the show run?

The exhibition will run for at least four months from its 2026 Frieze week launch.

Who else will be exhibiting alongside the recipient?

The recipient will be shown alongside a curated selection of artists, including THE TAGLI's own roster as well as the two shortlisted nominees.

What does the winner receive?

The recipient receives a year-long mentorship with THE TAGLI team (regular mentor meetings, bespoke career coaching and access to industry knowledge), inclusion in the group exhibition at Rosewood London, and a £2,000 artist fee provided by Rosewood.

What do the shortlisted nominees receive?

The two shortlisted nominees will have their work included in the same group exhibition and will each receive a £500 artist fee provided by Rosewood.

Would my work be available for sale?

Yes. Works included in the exhibition will be consigned by the gallery for a minimum of nine months, under THE TAGLI's regular consignment and commission terms, as with any other commercial gallery. Please make sure the works in your portfolio submission are available for commercial sale and can be in London for approximately four months, in time for the exhibition opening in October.

Do my works have to be available for sale?

Yes. 

What does the mentorship involve?

A year-long programme with THE TAGLI team, combining regular mentor meetings, bespoke career coaching, and access to industry knowledge; designed to help the recipient launch and develop their practice in line with current market dynamics.

Is the mentorship remote-friendly, or do I need to be in London?

Both - mentorship is delivered through a mix of online and in-person meetings, so it is accessible to artists based anywhere in the UK or EU.

Who covers the cost of transporting and installing my work?

All logistics - including transport and installation to and from Rosewood London are covered by Rosewood London and THE TAGLI.

Is my work insured for the duration of the exhibition?

Yes. Insurance is covered by Rosewood London and THE TAGLI for the full run of the show.

What is the deadline?

Applications close Sunday 6 September 2026 at 6pm BST (British Summer Time).

Is there anything I should avoid submitting?

Please do not submit works that are homophobic, racist, toxic, pornographic or paedophilic in nature. Any such entries will be disqualified. Please do not submit works consigned to another gallery. 

Would you accept sketches or unfinished works?

No. All submissions must be final, completed works - preliminary sketches will not be accepted.
